This chart has been produced for quite a few years now and it always provides a nice view from 30,000 feet. In case you haven’t seen it:

Wow, look at the jump for Gold from 2008 - 2009, can’t think what happened then :rofl::rofl:
Imagine also, having a return on cash…"times they are a changin’ "

Looks to me the winner is the SP500? Do you guys think it will hold up the same for the next 10 years?

We use this with clients to illustrate the importance of diversification. No one asset is the top performer consistently year on year.

Interesting Chart! Quite interesting indeed. :sunglasses:

Noticed “Cash” only once at top back in 2018 and years 2008 and 2018 as the worst years on Total Returns.

How many times a given asset has been on top(according to this chart):

MSCI EM …5
S&P500 …4
US Treasuries …3
REITS…3
Comodities …2
Gold …2
Global HY…1
Cash …1

Is interesting to see Gold and Comodities only twice at top. Would be interesting to have Bitcoin added to this chart to see how BTC total returns behaved against those traditional assets.
